In 2014, driven by their shared passion, Marion and Poppy Sanman combined their talents to create Samui Circus Studio. Also, their goal was to build a space where artists, performers, and curious minds could come together to learn, share, and grow.
Poppy: The Fire Artist
Poppy, a highly respected fire spinner in Thailand, discovered his passion for fire art as a teenager. Eager to learn, he trained under Master Pi Oud, one of Thailand’s first fire artists. Over the years, he performed on islands like Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, constantly refining his skills. Through dedication and hard work, he built a successful career, performing at top resorts, festivals, and international events. However, despite his success, so Poppy longed for something more—a place where artists could collaborate, inspire, and pass on their skills to the next generation. Thus desire led to the creation of Samui Circus Studio, which now provides a platform for artists to explore new movement dynamics and expand their creative potential.
Marion: The Visionary Manager
Marion, originally from France, brings a wealth of expertise in communications, tourism, and marketing. With a passion for event planning and creative projects, she saw the potential in Poppy’s vision and helped bring it to life. Thanks to her ability to connect with people, organize events, and promote the arts, Marion played a key role in transforming the studio into an international hub for performers.
