At Samui Circus, we celebrate tradition, creativity, and community. Among the most powerful tools in our fire performance shows is the Fire Injector. Also known as the Flame Thrower. This remarkable device has deep roots in the global flow arts scene and carries a legacy that began more than 20 years ago.
What Is a Fire Injector?
A Fire Injector is a custom-built fire tool that produces massive bursts of flame during performances. It brings intensity, spectacle, and impact to any solo or team act. Ideal for trained performers, it takes any fire show to the next level—delivering unforgettable moments for both artists and audiences.
The Origins – Dia Zaobab’s Vision (2003)
Back in 2003, legendary Japanese flow artist Dia Zaobab created the original version. Dia, also known as the inventor of the Buugeng (Japanese-style S-Staff), blended graceful movement with explosive firepower. The Fire Injector became one of his most iconic creations. Before the rise of YouTube and social media, performers shared knowledge in person—through jam sessions, collaboration, and trust. During this time, Pipat Supawat, a member of Samui Circus, learned about the Fire Injector from fellow artists traveling across Asia. This passed-down knowledge became a hidden gem in the fire community.
Samui Circus and the Flame Injector Today
Fast forward 22 years, and we still build our Fire Injectors based on that original blueprint. Until recently, we reserved them for our own performances—never for sale, and always made by hand. The technique remained within our inner circle, preserving its uniqueness. Today, thanks to Pipat Supawat’s craftsmanship and passion, we’ve revived it for a new generation of flow artists. Each unit is carefully handmade, rigorously tested for safety, and crafted with the same spirit that fueled its origins.
As the global flow arts community continues to grow, we believe in sharing, educating, and evolving. By reintroducing the Fire Injector, we aim to pass on this powerful tool with the knowledge and respect it truly deserves.
